Do you have a social media marketing strategy? Do you have profiles set up on popular social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter?
All these different social media channels should lead back to your site. It's like a large funnel and at the bottom of the funnel, all traffic is channeled to your main site or blog.
Different social media sites have their own strengths and weaknesses. I would advise you to spend a few hours on each site to learn how it works.

This is not going to be a comprehensive review of all the social media sites out there. I have recently set up my account at Facebook and Twitter so I'm going to describe my experiences using these sites. On Twitter, I found that a lot of other marketers I know from forums are already there.
Twitter
I used to wonder what in the world Twitter can be used for. At first, it seemed totally random to me. But the more I use it, I start to see how other marketers are utilizing Twitter as a marketing tool. They tweet whenever they have a new post on their blog. They socialize with others in the same niche.
Sometimes I get tired of Twitter though. People ramble on about random stuff. And who has the time to read through all the tweets if you're following more than a couple dozen people. However, if you use a search tool like Tweetscan, you can type in names of products or current events and see who's talking about what.
Did I also mention that I won a prize using Twitter? True story. One day when I signed on, I noticed someone announcing a contest on their blog. All I had to do was to be the first person to comment on the blog post and I won myself a copy of Norton 360.
Purists would use Twitter purely to keep up with friends. But if you're a marketer, you'll want to figure out the best way you can use it to promote YOUR BRAND.

I recommend taking a look at Charles Heflin's Social Marketing Blueprint. Oh by the way, did I mention that it's a free report?
Having a blueprint is important as you will be able to keep track of your social media marketing efforts for EACH site that you own.
